About the MOT
The first test is required once a vehicle is three years old. When your vehicle is tested, the MOT examines important items to see if it meets the legal requirements. The MOT certificate is valid for 12 months.

The MOT test is not a substitute for regular servicing, and passing the MOT test does not
mean that your vehicle will remain safe for the following 12 months.
